Seminar for Potential Calvert County Board of Education Candidates

 

Two at-large Board members will be elected in November, 2010

 

  An information seminar on becoming a Calvert County Board of Education member sponsored by the Democratic and Republican Central Committees of Calvert County and the Maryland Association of Boards of Education.  This seminar will include information about the role of the Board of Education, the time commitment required of Board members, and practical information about the election process. 

 

Participation in this seminar in no way obligates an individual to run for office.

 

All  Calvert County residents who are interested in learning more about running for election to the Calvert County Board of Education in November, 2010 are invited. 

 

To be eligible to file as a candidate for this office, individuals must have been registered to vote in Calvert County as of January 1, 2009.  Also, individuals must not be employees of Calvert County Public Schools or be subject to the authority of the Calvert County Board of Education.

The Board elects officers annually during the December meeting; officers serve one-year terms.
