A children's train will run down Church Streeet, and across from Linden will be a petting zoo. At the end of the street will be pony rides sponsored by the Calvert County Sheriff's office. 4-H will exhibit their animals at Linden.
The Month of the Young Child is sponsored by the Calvert County Interagency for Children, Youth and Families and the United Way of Calvert County Success By 6, and brings attention to the importance of issues affecting young children and their families. Early childhood education, health care, and appropriate parenting are all important topics that affect the healthy development of children from birth to six years of age. It is during these first years that children are prepared to enter school, develop social skills and learn to trust the world around them.
