ASSET DEVELOPMENT STRENGTHENS YOUTH

Kids need to know their strengths. They need to know what excites them.  SPARKS, as described by the Search Institute of Minnesota (www.search-institute.org),  will help them focus and thrive. What kids need comes down to a common theme for all of us—we all want to nurture what we love best and share that interest or ability in our work, family, and community lives.

Invite Calvert Collaborative for Children and Youth to share more youth development ideas with you and/or your community group.  Contact us at calvertkids@chesapeake.net or 410 286-8300.

Calvert Youth Speak Out Against Bullying

Bullying is more and more frequently in the news and on our minds, especially if we have children.  There are young people active in our community doing something about this painful problem and Calvert Library Prince Frederick invites you to support them on Thursday, May 23 at 7pm.  There will be two plays, music and information.  The school system will provide an overview on anti-bullying initiates currently in the schools and reporting processes.  The event will include the Change Club performing their play, Twin Beach Players’ Youth Troupe performing Mickey Cashman’s play, and Unique Divine Keemer performing her song “Don’t Be a Bully.”  Bring the family to learn what you can do to prevent bullying and to celebrate these young people making a difference.  For more information, call the Calvert Library Prince Frederick at 410-535-0291 or 301-855-1862 or check the website at calvert.lib.md.us
